“We purchased an older home in a new area for us. Everything needed [to be] replaced including the HVAC system. We decided to go with a new Geothermal system converting from oil baseboard heat. We knew the project was going to be expensive but the tax incentives helped, [and] I hated the look of the baseboards. We got estimates from three companies which were all close to each other. Part of the improvements on the house included a 1,000 sq feet addition. Carney removed all the ugly baseboards, installed a new water heater and put in new duct work throughout the addition and the existing house.
Our journey started in Jan 2011. Joe came out and went over our house and the plans for the addtition. We weighed many options including an energy efficient oil heater but eventually decided to bite the bullet and go with the geo system. We signed the papers in March of 2011, but work didn’t begin until May 2011 after we actually moved into the house. This was not Carneys fault, the permits for the wells took a long time as the township in which we now reside did not really understand the system and how it works. There was a lot of red tape to cut through and in our township the permit cost was unexpectedly high. Once the red tape was finished, the process was smooth and efficient. I even asked them to modify a couple things and they did that without batting an eye. They took the old air conditioner compressor to a local HVAC trade school as a donation and got a receipt for me and my taxes. The system is now in and functioning beautifully for both heat/air and hot water. I'm looking forward to low energy costs, not having to worry about the price of oil, and doing the right thing for the earth. “He fixed my outside heat pump unit so the air conditioning would work! He looked at the outside and inside units – he also checked the wiring – all the time he explained what he was doing and why. He pushed a button… and voila…. I had AC. When I explained that I have this problem every time the seasons changed and the unit had to go to or from one modality to another, e.g. heat to AC or AC to heat. He looked at the wiring and assured me everything was fine but for some reason the switch was tripped.
What was excellent was never shown to me by any of the 3 previous service providers who came out in the past 5 years… is that the technician showed me how to push the button all by myself. “My only regret is I did not use your services years ago. I have had numerous problems with my Trane air conditioner and heat pump since it was first installed. Now thanks to your service rep. Jim, I’ve regained my confidence in Trane products and become a dedicated customer of Carney Heating and Cooling. When Jim arrived he was very professional. Asking questions as to how the air conditioner was not working. What impressed me the most was he also pointed out the many mistakes that were made in the initial installation. No it was not Carney and I will not mention the name. When he left, he said he would give me two options. The first was to replace the indoor coil with the faulty TXV. The second option was to replace the indoor coil AND reinstall the entire system. The way Jim presented this to me, I felt it was best to get the entire job done and done right. I elected to have the work completed only if Jim was the service man and/or ran the job. Yesterday Jim and Keith did what was supposed to be done initially. They reinstalled the outdoor unit on crushed stone and put the unit on lintels. The indoor air handler was repositioned on a new return box and supply feed. The indoor coil was removed and another installed with the new TXV valve. Needless to say it looks and runs like a new system. I cannot say enough about Jim. He was a professional from the first service call to the end.”

Bill showed up around 3, and diagnosed the problem. He got started right away. After he repaired the leaking shut-off valves, he discovered that my drain line was clogged solid. He quoted me a price, and I agreed to the added cost, and took care of the clog. He suggested that I replace the drain line, because the cast iron was showing its age, and the sludge would continue to build up. Bill answered all my questions and was very friendly, even though it was at the end of the day. I appreciate that kind of professionalism. I found their prices to be a little steep, but as I said above, I did agree to the service. So there is really no room for complaint. The fact that the job got taken care of in the same day that I called definitely softened the blow to my wallet. I would definitely use Carney Plumbing again."

"Dear Mr. Carney,
I just wanted to take a moment to write to you and share a recent experience with your company. Two weeks ago, our air conditioner stopped working a couple of hours before we were about to have over 50 people over for my 4 year old daughter's birthday party!
I tried calling several air conditioning repair companies in the Lansdale area and no one was able to help, most didn't even answer their phones. It was hotter inside my house than outside so I went outside to make phone calls to every company I could find in the phone book when I noticed one of your trucks and yard signs at my neighbor's house a few doors down. I walked over to get the phone number and as I approached the sign, one of your men was walking to his truck. I explained my situation to him and asked him if he could come over when he was done and look at our air conditioner. He explained that he worked on air conditioner replacements and that he did not have repair parts on his truck, but he offered to take a minute to call your office and see if you could help. When he hung up, he told me to call your office and ask for Lisa and that she would "make it happen"! I was so relieved! I called your office and asked for Lisa. As promised, she was expecting my call and assured me that she would get a repair man to my home as soon as she could.
About an hour later, your air conditioning service man, Jim arrived at our home - at this point, I was really worried and almost in a panic. He assured me that he would do everything he could to get it working and asked me a few questions about when it stopped working and if I had noticed any patterns or noises from the system before it broke. After that he went to work, back and forth from the basement to the outside unit. About 45 minutes later, he got it working again and we had cold air coming from the vents! It took a little while for the house to get cool again, but everyone was comfortable and the birthday party was a big hit!
Thank you so much for having such great people in your company, everyone that I talked to was so friendly and accommodating and they did everything they could to help.
We know that we need to get a new air conditioner soon, and we'll definitely be calling Carney to replace it - my neighbors are so happy with the new one you just installed in their home.
